The University of Bern in collaboration with the Inselspital (Bern University Hospital) is seeking an

Open Rank Assistant Professor with Tenure Track
or Extraordinary Professor for Medical Oncology
with a special focus on "Gynecological Oncology"

The position is available as of summer 2021 or upon agreement.

Within the framework of the strategy of the Inselspital, Bern University Hospital, Medical Oncology is a key discipline for the University Cancer Center Inselspital (UCI). In this context, the position of an open rank assistant professorship with tenure track or extraordinary professorship with a special focus on "Gynecological Oncology" is to
be filled.

The Department of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology is part of the University Cancer Center Inselspital (UCI) and offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic medical services for all the Departments of the Inselspital as well as external institutions.
The position carries the responsibility for both the academic program and the clinical services.

The candidate should hold the FMH title of Medical Oncology or an equivalent foreign specialist title and have a broad education with indepth knowledge of the topic. Furthermore, the person should have a habilitation and be active in clinical and/or basic research. In the context of the Clinic for Medical Oncology and Radio-Oncology, the candidate should be a team player, should be flexible and is used working interdisciplinarily. Expertise in "Precision Medicine" and experience with academic cancer centres is desired. The position also requires interest and experience in
management and leadership. The candidates must have a strong record in acquiring external funding for research.

Didactic teaching skills are expected and a major commitment to develop young academics, including experience in the training of fellows. Candidates with a mother tongue other than German may master the German or French language (spoken and written language) at a high level of accomplishment at a later stage.
